SAFIR, a chemical dependency support group, provides intervention services for adolescents experiencing substance abuse and their families. They support, educate and assist teens and families by offering resource information and by working through emotional and family related issues. SAFIR is an ongoing support program which is available for as long as is needed by the family.

Bridges Service Center is operated by Vista Hill as an outpatient clinic for adolescents and families with mental health and/or substance abuse diagnoses. The program is offered after school hours and includes intensive, theme oriented counseling and educational groups. In addition, the program offers an opportunity for family involvement, case management, therapeutic coaches, urine drug screens and aftercare groups.

Phoenix House offers substance abuse outpatient day treatment for teens, youth support groups and multi family groups. They also offer short and long term residential programs in East County.

The Student Assistance program is a twelve week intensive outpatient program for adolescent and pre-adolescent substance abuse treatment. It is provided at the Scripps McDonald Center on the campus of Scripps Memorial Hospital-La Jolla.

North Coastal North Teen Recovery Center provides outpatient drug and alcohol treatment and education including assessment and referral and are court and probation approved. They also offer treatment groups, one to one counseling and intensive day treatment.

Aurora Behavioral Health Care/San Diego tests children and adolescents, and provides families with immediate answers for current crisis. The hours of operation are 9:00am to 9:00pm. They use an Urine Drug Screening with results within 5 minutes of screening. The fee is $12.00 (positive screens can be sent to an off-site lab for verification for an additional $12.00). They screen for Marijuana, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Morphine, and Benzodiazipines.
